SYNOPSIS

APNews incorrectly claims to have debunked the possibility that there could be a correlation between the 15 fold increase in cardiac related deaths (2021-2022) in young athelets and the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines that began in 2020.

OVERVIEW

APNews released a fact-check regarding the published study, “Rational harm-benefit assessments by age group are required for continued COVID-19 vaccination” (also found @ https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/sji.13242). APNews claims that the increased deaths of athletes under 35 are “baseless”. What is interesting to note first, is that the article does not seem to refute that there is an increase in deaths amongst Athletes under 35 since the COVID-19 vaccines began, but rather only refutes that the deaths are related to the mRNA vaccines. In fact, APNews does not site any facts. It only sites claims by a few hand-picked experts. Expert opinions are not facts, they are opinions and claims. In fact, there is only one relevant link that has any resemblance of a fact sited by APNews, is one reference of fifteen references in the allegedly false publication. That reference was a publication from 2006 entitled “Sudden cardiac death in athletes: the Lausanne Recommendation“. It has nothing to do with cardiac death incidents and increases related to COVID and was published thirteen years before COVID-19 (2006). The 2006 publication studied the incidence for cardio related death amongst young athletes compared to non-athletes. Obviously that study had nothing to do with COVID because it was done thirteen years before COVID existed. The key take away from the 2006 publication is that young athletes (<35) appear to have more cardiac incidents then non-athletes. The study APNews claims is false, simply used the findings of the 2006 publication for the purpose of  the determining “raw numbers” of young athletes deaths over a prior 38 year period (which AP agrees is accurate). The most important fact in the APNews factcheck was left out and NOT mentioned. That important element of the publication was published by Good Science magazine. The publication entitled “1653 Athlete Cardiac Arrests or Serious Issues, 1148 of Them Dead, Since COVID Injection” is very detailed and actually sites all the deaths in 2021 and 2022 in a very long list. The authors of Rational harm-benefit assessment by age group are …(referenced above), provided evidence that young Athletes under 35 are dying at a rate of 15 times since the COVID vaccines began by simply comparing data from the 2006 publication with the publication released by Good Science. When comparing the two publications it clearly demonstrates that there is a 15 fold increase of deaths by cardiac related incidents in young athletes in the past two years.

RELEVANT FACTS

FACT #1  The publication by Good Science shows that there have been 1598 cardiac incidents of athletes under 35 between 2021 and the publication in 2022. It also clearly shows that as a result of those cardiac incidents, 1198 have resulted in death

FACT #2 The publication referenced by APNews states that between 1966 and 2004, the total number of deaths was 1,101 athelets under 35. Those death calculate to 29/year (1,100/38 = 29/year) over a previous 38 year period compared to 2021 to 2022 which experienced the same number of deaths in atheletes under 35.

“From January 2021 to the time of writing, 1598 athletes suffered cardiac arrest, 1101 of which with deadly outcome.8 Notably, in a 38-years timespan (1966- 2004), 1,101 athletes under the age of 35 died …”

OPINION

Here are our findings after reviewing facts presented by both APNews and the publishers of “Rational harm-benefit assessments by age group are required for continued COVID-19 vaccination .  Based on the facts presented, the claim that there has been a 15 fold increase in deaths of athletes under 35 since the mRNA vaccines began being administered, is a proper deduction. It should be noted that the publication did not say there was a link to the COVID-19 that has been conclusively proven, but rather that the increase occurred after the wide spread COVID-19 vaccinations began. It is a observation, not a conclusion and this is why the publication is accurate. Goodscience is not a recognized science publication. However, the GoodScience did list hundreds of links to news articles from very credible newsites of deaths from Cardiac arrest in young atheletes. APNews pointed out that the GoodScience had included individuals in their 70s and 60s. This is true but of no relevance because there are 1653 links but the publication only referenced 1598 of them (the ones in the proper age group). In addtion there are 12 additional supporting links that provide support for the publication.  The purpose of the publication was to raise awareness in the science community that more studies need to be done because there is a vast amount of suspicious findings that continue to surface post mRNA COVID-19 vaccinations.
